What to expect
Grab your partner or a pal and get ready for a truly unique and creative experience! Join us at Diego's Joint, a modern bar, coffee house, and event space located in Sunniside, Sunderland, for an adults-only ceramic mug sculpting workshop. In this fun and engaging session, you'll sculpt your very own ceramic mug from scratch, then take it to the next level by transforming it into a self-portrait or a portrait of your partner or friend. We'll kick things off with a full demonstration, sharing all the tips and tricks you'll need. Plus, I'll be on hand throughout the session to offer guidance whenever you need it. No experience necessary – just bring your imagination and a sense of humour! As part of your booking, you'll also each receive one free drink from a range of soft and alcoholic beverages to enjoy while you get creative. All the fantastic mugs you create will be professionally glazed in a shiny clear finish and will be ready for collection in 3-4 weeks. Want to Add Colour? If you'd like to add some vibrant colour to your ceramic masterpiece, you can book a separate painting session for just £15. These painting slots will be available approximately 1 month after the making (Bookings will be taken on the day of your workshop) Diego's Joint is a wheelchair-accessible venue.
Booking Policy
Glazing and Firing Process: The final step of glazing and firing transforms your pottery into a finished ceramic. Each item undergoes a precise process within the studio, where I carefully work toward achieving the best possible result. However, despite my meticulous approach, the kiln can sometimes yield unexpected outcomes. Given the handmade nature of each piece, occasional cracks or even breakages are a natural risk of the firing process. If your piece is lost in the kiln, I’ll gladly provide a replacement to ensure you’re satisfied with the final result. Payments + Refunds: Payment is required in full when booking through our website. To cancel or reschedule, please contact us at least 48 hours before your scheduled session. Refunds are not available for cancellations; however, you may reschedule your booking within this timeframe. We kindly ask all guests to arrive at least 10 minutes prior, as workshops will begin on time, and we won’t be able to delay for late arrivals.
